It's Been Awhile!
Just as the title states at the top of this post. It's been awhile since I have posted anything on here and most of that is due to just getting busy and not having a lot of time recently to get online and really write things.
There is no news or updates about my school stuff and getting help at this time. I am sure I will here some stuff sooner to when the semester starts or when I am able to actually go up to the school and talk to them about taking classes and making sure that I am not on probation.
I found out that I might be getting a promotion at work. First got the news from my supervisor on Friday about whether I would like to make the switch or if I would be interested in it and if I was bored with what I was doing right now. If you all don't know at this point, I work for Time Warner Cable doing the online chat and email services.
Basically, I come in on the days scheduled and talk to be online all day long and answer emails sent to us by customers as well. We also deal with escalations and other things as well. It's a fun job and I enjoy doing it and have never thought once of making a switch, but when you are offered a Monday through Friday job from 8-5 PM with weekends off.
How can you say, no? You know? Right now I don't have weekends off and it causes me to miss out on a lot of things and it would be so nice to have the weekends off cause I love hockey and hockey games in San Antonio with the Rampage are mostly on the weekends. As they are in just about every town who has a hockey team.
Maybe I can finally become a season ticket holder and show my support. It won't be like it was in San Angelo, but it is better than nothing at all.
Other news is that right now I am trying to get another vehicle. I haven't been able to find any good prices and deals. As well as things that fit my budget and I am not able to put down a payment of $3,000 at this time either.
Hopefully I can get that taken care of soon and get myself into another ride. I am sure that my girlfriend doesn't want to have to drive me all over the place and to work. She has her own stuff to worry about right now and I don't want to dump more stress on her at this point.
That is all folks! That is all the news that has been happening since the last update on the blog. I hope to hear from you all with comments and maybe even emails.
Oh yeah, I will be starting a website and forum soon. Give me some ideas of what you would like to see and what you would love to basically talk about all day on the internet!

Future Career?
Recently I decided that it was time for me to make the change in my life and go back to school. The process of actually getting into school is not all that hard and even being there is not hard at all either. As for what you are there for during that time.
I feel that is a whole different subject.
Most people tend to go off to college out of high school and they have that general idea of what they really want to do for the rest of their life. Then they realize that maybe that isn't such a great idea because you can't make money at it or there is just no need for that job. People in college change their major as much as you change a new born.
The problem that I am running into right now is that I am talented at a few things. I know that I could be really good at them and all of them I would not mind doing as my career for the rest of my life.
I am very talented when it comes to computers. I know just about everything there is to know when it comes to computers and I am defnitely good at building them, upgrading any computer, and programming. I am also on the other side of the computer when it comes to web design and graphics. I can do that just as well and if not better to tell you the truth.
I have always really wanted to open up my own computer shop. I feel that people pay way too much for computer repair right now and people also pay too much out of pocket for computers that they might buy from Best Buy or OfficeMax. I would love to be able to offer repair service and also offer the ability for us to build your custom PC at a discounted price since it is much cheaper.
I also would love to be able to help local businesses in the area with websites. That is the biggest way that you can get your company out to anyone right now. Nobody really reads the paper anymore, less and less people are starting to listen to the radio, and not everyone really has cable TV.
When it comes to internet, I will just say that I think it something that people can't live without. People have it in their homes, on their phones, in their vehicles, and just all over the place.
I know that starting up a business in the computer field would be a long way away right now, but it is something that I think about from time to time.
The other thing that I am really good at is going to be hockey. I know goaltending like nobody else and although I would love to teach that to young players. I would much rather be the guy who goes out and grabs those who could be the best of all-time with the right coaching.
That means I would love to be a scout for any league or age group.
At the time that I want to be a scout I would not mind being a goaltending coach or even maybe going into the office of things and being a general manager or assistant general manager. On top of all that stuff I would not mind doing broadcasting.
My brother feels that broadcast journalism or just journalism in general would be best for me since I want to get into sports. I feel that would be great, but once again it is harder and harder to write for a newspaper since nobody is reading them these days. Although most of the stories are being presented more on the team website than anywhere else these days.
I guess I have some thinking to do on what it is that I want to do for the rest of my life. Who knows? Maybe I can do both of these things and fall back on either if something was to go wrong.
For those that may have some ideas or thoughts, please feel free to comment and post them on here.

FAFSA Approved!
It sure didn't take long for them to get back to me and let me know that my FAFSA was approved and that from what I was given as far as the code goes I might be able to get Federal Pell Grants up to $3,400 for the school year.
I filled this out for San Antonio College this past school year and was given $3,000 to use. I was not able to do it because I had to pay some bills and so my job kind of got in the way. Now that things are back in order and I know that I can work time out to go to school or even do online classes.
I am set to go and I will be doing this for sure!
Now I just have to get information from San Antonio College on how much money I will get to use for classes.
I will be sure to update all of you as soon as I get the information myself.

Money? FAFSA Completed!
The biggest step that you can take towards going back to school is to see if you can get some help with it from the government. I went ahead and completed my FAFSA because I am going to need any help that I can get at this time.
Although I do work for a company that will actually help me out and pay for my schooling. As any company that does tuition reimbursement, you have to pay first and if you make the grade, then you get reimbursed.
Well it is hard to fork over $600 for classes when you have a tight budget to begin with and you are living on your own.
I guess I will wait a few weeks and then I will update all of you on what news I am given when the FAFSA is looked at and reviewed.
Wish me luck!

Back To School?
Recently I have taken the step back from the big picture of life and wondered if there were pieces that I was missing or gaps that I could fill in for myself. The funny thing is the biggest gap would be me going to school.
This day and age it is sort of mandatory that you go to school after you actually graduate high school. If you don't, you might as well get ready to have a hard life. Coming out of high school and getting a job that pays well is not a reality. I will be the first person to tell you that right now. I was lucky enough to get a great job where I am right now, but that didn't come easy as it cost me quite a bit in the past.
Life is what we make it and at the end of the day when we all come home to either ourselves or to your loved one. The future that we have made for us is just what we have formed and not something that was just put in place by some higher power.
I feel that we all are put on this earth to do things and that all of us have something to offer. Most of us will never know what that is right off the bat and sometimes it will take trial and error till we realize what we are suppose to be doing for life.
The one thing that I always felt I would be doing for life is really something to do with hockey. It is hard for me to explain how much I love that sport and how watching it either live or on TV just makes the world slow down for me and everything is good for that 60 minutes. I'd love to have that for the rest of my life and every single day as well. I also would love for that to be part of my family as well and that my own kids get to experience something just as great.
That is why the title of this is, Back To School?
It's because I am ready to fill that big gap in my life and go back to school. I want to be successful and be able to provide for my family. It's not that I don't have confidence in myself right now, because I do with no doubts, but it's the simple fact that education is something that nobody can take away from you. I would like to have something that nobody can take away from me. Right now I have a great job and I do it well and I love the people who I work with, but you know what? All of that can be taken away from me in a split second if they decided to cut my department or if they just felt I wasn't needed at all.
All of those things can change in that split second and the sad thing is that I have known what that feels like a few times now.
I've been through so much in my life and I know that school is not hard. If anything, I know that it is easy. You just have to be willing to put in the work and time to make the grades.
Finally, I am ready to do that after 5 years of being out of school. I am ready to go back and make the commitment to better myself for my future and the future of my family as well.
Hopefully this will inspire some of you who read this to maybe look into your own life and maybe see some stuff that you can change, gaps to fill, or just things to make better and I wish all of you luck to those who will make changes.
